

SUNDAY NIGHT CLUB WAS A CONCEPT PROJECT THAT AIMS TO END THE STIGMA THROUGHOUT MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH BY THE USE OF CLOTHING. AS RESEARCH SHOWS PEOPLE WEAR CLOTHING AS A WAY TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES, FOR THIS SUNDAY NIGHT CLUB WAS DESIGNED WITHIN A STREETWEAR SET TO HIT THE MARKET. THIS PROJECT FIRST STARTED DUE TO FINDING THERE TO BE A HUGE STIGMA AROUND MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH UP TO THE POINT OF MOST MEN NOT WANTING TO TALK ABOUT OR EVEN SHOW FEELINGS AROUND FRIENDS AND FAMILY. ALMOST THREE IN TEN MEN HAVE NEVER SHOWN EMOTION OR CRIED IN FRONT OF OTHERS. THE RATE OF SUICIDE IN MEN (15.4 PER 100,000) IS OVER THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT IN WOMEN (4.9 PER 100,000). AS STATISTICALLY PROVEN, MEN HAVE THIS STIGMA HELD AGAINST THEIR MENTAL HEALTH THAT IS ENCOURAGED BY SAYINGS LIKE “MAN UP” THAT ARE USED FREQUENTLY. SUNDAY NIGHT CLUB WANTED TO STOP THIS AND STOP THE STIGMA THAT IS ALSO HELD BEHIND MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH AND PROVE TO MEN THAT IT IS OKAY TO CRY, GET UPSET OR SHOW FEELINGS.
